Dingle was once titled “the most beautiful place on earth” by the National Geographic Magazine, it also rates very highly with Trip Advisor as a year round destination. The town of Dingle is set on the south side of the Dingle peninsula and is a perfect base for exploring the area by day and having good food and craic by night.
In 1860 Avalon was previously an old linen flax mill. Which supplied linen world wide. Vaults were under the ground of the structure.
The classic film “Ryans Daughter” was filmed in the area and the lovely tour around the head towards Dunquin and Slea Head is a must.
There are original landscape paintings of Dingle by the owner displayed in the hostel.
